This room was previously used as an office but needed to be made into a family space on a budget. It’s a small room, but due to where it’s situated has a very light, pretty feel to it. I wanted to emphasis this by using pretty colours, pinks, greens and creams whilst keeping it cosy.
As I was working to a budget the carpet had to remain along with most of the existing furniture. I was able to cover the majority of the carpet with a large rug and I painted the furniture so was able to go for the more expensive wallpaper and fabrics for the window dressing.
All furniture painted by myself in Fusion Mineral Cathedral Taupe, Ash, with highlights in Champagne.
Walls painted in a bespoke ‘Seafoam’ colour created by myself, made in Valspar Premium paint.

This is the first tailored lampshade I made using the frame from a lamp no longer used. It is made in Tesserae Silk and lined in cream lawn fabric with Heather beaded trim. The base was one I already had, which I just painted to match the furniture.
Tailored lampshades give off a much softer, diffused light compared to the card based shades.
